How do Armenian families look at interracial dating?

Are you a non-Armenian dating someone who is Armenian or are you Armenian currently dating someone outside of your culture? How have the families responded??

I'm Mexican, currently dating an Armenian guy. We both really like each other but he's very worried about his family (especially his mom) not accepting the fact that he's dating someone who's not Armenian. He's mentioned he's brought hispanic gfs home before and his parents were never bothered, but it was probably because he was never serious with any of them. He says he's scared now to confront his parents about getting serious with a Mexican girl because the think they will disown him. His mom already knows he's dating me but I don't think she's aware that he wants to get serious with me. And when he tried to talk to her, she started lecturing him on the importance of dating an Armenian but told him to do whatever the hell he wanted. This has been getting me really worried that it will break us apart. Any advice?

Why do people care about interracial dating so much ?
meetinterracialwomen.com
Question from a boy:
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, because it's not. Everyone has a right to love whoever they want to. I ask because I'm 19 and I'm a black guy and all my life I've heard people make funny because "he likes white girls" why should that matter? My older sister even told me "not to bring a white girl home". Who I choose to like is something that's out of my control and my business, the heart wants what it wants . Right now I really like a girl who is white and she is a person who is indescribably beautiful, has an amazing personality and I know my parents would not care as long as I was happy, 2 of my uncles are married to white women and they have great kids with them and been married for 15+ years. But why do so many people frown upon it? As long as they are happy is not that all that should matter?
Answer:
We live in a new, global era with more tolerance and understanding for couples that exist outside the "norms" for relationships,In my opinion interracial relationships can be very beneficial. It opens you up to new cultural ideas. It will help in diffusing future racial tension that could exist. Mixing of people of different races and/or cultures will provide a wonderful cultural and social mixing, and when it comes to offspring, many mixed race babies are very cute. Genetically the human race is much healthier if we mix bloodlines. Inbreeding was a major problem in many royal families. Any biologist could tell you that the "keep race pure" idea is flawed because it goes against everything science tells us.
In conclusion, do what ever you want to do, I don't care. I believe a little biased. I am seriously advocating interracial relationships because my past sexual experiences or relationships that I had with my own race never met my expectations, whereas my best experiences were with people of another race.

How to attract a white guy?

A  girl's question:
So I'm African American soon to be 20, and I find white guys really attractive, I've had tons of guy friends that are white but they never seem to be into me as a gf, granted I wasn't into them like that either, I think they saw me as me and not a girl and may have been a bit frightened to ask me out. I am 5'3 and I cut my hair recently so it's chin length but I'm growing it back out and decided rather or not to go natural or stick with perms (my patience with hair isn't the best) i'm thick, not fat more like thick thighs and butt trim waist and 40Ds. i'm just not sure how to attract a guy. I know how to wear my clothes to make my body shape turn heads but I'm not interesting in being sexually active or making guys think I would be. What do I do?

Answer:
Just being a woman is enough to attract any guy. Here are some suggestions.
First, you must have self-confidence, self-confidence is a source of beauty .
Second, pay attention to your appearance , learn makeup.

Third, do yourself , do a complete yourself .

Does anyone believe interracial love is really dangerous?

Questions:
I was listening to this video posted by a user who calls himself "Presidentoftheblacks" and the title was "Interracial Love is Stupid".

He was ranting on how interracial relationships don't work and its dangerous.

Does anyone believe that? If you're in an interracial relationship, what are or were your experiences? How was the people around your surrounding area? How would the police react if they saw an interracial couple?

Answer:

I think : He's got it wrong -- "Interracial Love is -- Love".
Truthfully, sometimes mixed marriages can be a little different. To be whole and experience all that our lives together can bring, we love not only the individual, but also embrace his/her culture. We blend our backgrounds into something special and unique to nurture our children in all of our cultures. We learn how supremely unimportant race should be -- not just as words, but real life. We even share that unfortunate pain when someone mocks our spouse's race/ethnicity.

The only people we're dangerous to are those who are unhappy and can't stand to see different-seeming people come together in one life completely. That's a happiness that threatens those small-hearted people too much. Most people see us as a happy couple and smile for us. The ones who don't -- tough cookies.

Don't know about LAPD, but in my area we've never had trouble. There's a lot of mixed couples.

A girl asked me a question, how do you think ?

Question:
Should i try interracial love ? I just met a great, pretty and handsome boy on meetinterracialwomen.com. He is so kind and love me .. But my parents reject this because he is black and i am white girl. What should i do? I am 24 years old, he is 25. Thank you for any answers.

Answer:

Why not?Kind and loving is important, right? And it's hard to find ! I know your parents are probably very unhappy with this set up, but

(1) you are 20yo and therefore an adult, able to make adult decisions

(2) the decision making you have learned has come at least in part from your parents ... do they think that this fellow should be refused service at a bar because he is black?

(3) interracial relationships can be very beneficial.

I am seriously advocating interracial relationships because my past experiences or relationships that I had with my own race never met my expectations, whereas my best experiences were with people of another race

Whats wrong with interracial relationships? ?
We live in a new, global era with more tolerance and understanding for couples that exist outside the "norms" for relationships... yet many interracial couples still attract stares. After a chat with some other interracial couples,I know that there still have some  prejudice  on interracial couples.

1.) How would your family feel about partner's race.
2.)Are you worried about racial stereotypes
3.) Wouldn't be just easier to date your own race.

5.) What about children and their adaptation in school where there is no other mixed children.

7.) Do you feel frustrated not begin able to express yourself in your own language, and its easier to date someone out of your country?

Barack Obama, Sr. and Ann Dunham Married in 1961——Interracial love
Obama Parents
I wasn’t going to include this couple in the list because their relationship was so short, but I know there would be many comments asking about them so I decided to include it as a bonus.
In 1960, after Ann Dunham graduated from high school in Mercer Island, Washington, her family moved to Honolulu. Dunham then enrolled at the University of Hawaii. Obama Sr. was 23 years old and had come to Hawaii to pursue his education, and was the university’s first African foreign student, leaving behind a pregnant wife and infant son in Kenya. Dunham met Obama Sr. at the University while attending a Russian language class. When Dunham became pregnant they were married on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Obama Sr.’s wife in Kenya later said she had granted her consent for him to marry a second wife, in keeping with their countries customs. On August 4, 1961, at the age of 18, Dunham gave birth to her first child, Barack Obama II. Dunham took one month old Barack to Washington State where she took classes at the University of Washington from September 1961 to June 1962. Barack Sr. continued his studies in Hawaii until he graduated in 1962, and then left for Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he would begin graduate study at Harvard. Dunham returned to Honolulu to resume her education with her parents helping to raise Barack. Dunham then filed for a divorce in 1964, which was uncontested. In 1971, Obama Sr. came to Hawaii to visit his 10 year old son, Barack. This would be the last time he would see him. Obama Sr.’s life fell into drinking and poverty back in Kenya. After a terrible car accident he lost both legs and subsequently lost his job. In 1982, at the age of 46, he was killed in another car accident in Nairobi. Obama Sr. had 7 children. In 1992, Ann, who was remarried to Lolo Soetoro, finally finished her doctoral dissertation and received her Ph.D. in anthropology. Two years later she complained of stomach pains. Months later, she was diagnosed with ovarian and uterine cancer. She died on November 7, 1995, at the age of 52. Ann Dunham had 2 children, Barack and a daughter, Maya, with Lolo Soetoro.
Interesting Fact: Following Ann Dunham’s memorial service at the University of Hawaii, Obama and his half sister Maya spread their mother’s ashes in the Pacific Ocean at Lanai Lookout on the south side of Oahu. Obama scattered the ashes of his grandmother (Madelyn Dunham) who died November 2, 2008, in the same spot weeks after his election to the presidency.

INTERRACIAL MARRIAGES ON THE RISE IN THE US

AJ PHOTO / BSIP

A new study by the liberal Brookings Institute has found a jump in numbers of interracial couples across all races in the United States.

The study, released in the middle of December, found a rise in interracial relationships especially with Asians, Hispanics, and Native Indians/Alaskan Natives. But whites and blacks are also marrying other races more today than in the past.
Up to 8.4 percent of new marriages were interracial, the study found. This is up from .4 percent in 1960.
The study found some quirks in the statistics. For instance, Asian women were far more apt to marry white or black men than Asian men were to find a relationship outside their race.
Additionally, it was discovered that black women marry outside their race less often than black men. Only 9 percent of black women date or marry white men, while 24 percent of black males end up with white women.
But, even as black and white relationships are less likely, William H. Frey of Brookings says that the number is still significant and shows how America is changing.
Frey noted, “as black-white marriages were prohibited in 16 states until 1967. The fact that nearly three in 10 new black marriages are multiracial with most of them to white spouses reflects an important shift toward blurring a long-held color line in the United States.”

How to handle an Interracial Relationship when your Parents don't Approve

Introduction

Before I even begin this topic, let me begin by addressing who exactly my target audience is. My target audience are those of you that are relatively young, make some sort of an income, and deal with a relationship that involves parents that do not approve of your interracial relationship. Most commonly, I see that happen with people between the ages of 20-28. None the less, I am not restricting anybody from reading this because it may in fact have advice suitable for anybody of any age or race.
Another point, I would like to make is that some of these points may be biased because of situations I deal with in my personal life. I am a Indian man raised in a Christian Orthodox background (but born in America) and my significant other is a beautiful American woman, who has religious beliefs but does not know what to follow (in other words you can say she is undecided).
Please take these considerations in mind when you read my article.

Your Parents

Yes, your parents, they are the main reason why you are even looking at this article. Most of us are often faced with parents that do not approve of our significant other, because of race, color, religion or whatever the case may be. You are stressed, and you know that you love your boyfriend or girlfriend and you never want to leave his or her side. At the same time you don't want to make your parents upset because it is not what they wanted.
Let me start of by saying this. Your love is what YOU want, not your parents. If you don't agree with that this article is clearly not for you. Because this article is about YOU and YOUR happiness. Although you may try your best to make your parents happy, your happiness is the ultimatum and you are going to have to deal with it for the rest of your life. Do you want to wake up for the rest of your life knowing that the woman/man beside you is not who you really wanted to marry, and that the woman/man you've been longing for is somewhere out there with another man who she may not deserve? Make smart decisions about your future, for you are the one that will have to deal with it.
For those of you reading this, your parents may come in any shape, form, or background. Your parents could have been born in another country, they could have strict religious and cultural beliefs, maybe they hardly speak English or maybe they believe in arranged marriages. This of course is a difficult barrier to overcome when you are faced with presenting your significant other to your parents.
What can you do? Well you have one option, which could lead to different results. You need to stand tall, hold your ground and stand up to your parents. Yes, this may seem like a daunting task, but it is the best way to settle things. You need to go up to your parents and tell them in essence, "This is my significant other, I love him/her no matter what race/religion he/she is, and I would like to spend my life with him/her, this is how I want things, and if you don't like it that way, I'm sorry but I am going to have to go against your will". Of course this is just paraphrasing what you should say, adjust this according to your parents.
Hiding your significant other from your parents is an ultimate disrespect for him or her. If you respect him/ her then your parents must know about them. You don't necessarily need to do it right away, but you need to do it when you know your relationship is getting serious and you know your in this for the long run. Your parents are the biggest hurdle to overcome, stand up tall and have some courage, its the only way you can get things to work.

Tips for the Couples

1. Respect each others culture. The worst thing you can do is say "This thing in your culture is stupid" or do something to demoralize your partners culture. Remember that culture has been a significant part of their lives.
2. Respect their religion. This is a bit difficult to overcome for some people, but it is necessary to maintain a healthy relationship. You partner might have religious beliefs that are different from yours. Do not scold him or her because of those beliefs, it has been a part of his or her life for a long time. Don't scold him/her for going to church on Sunday or being active in the church community, that's a good thing not a bad one. If you truly respect each others religion you will let things be and love each other for who you are. Never force someone to believe in your religion, your not a missionary.
3. With all the stuff on parents that I have said before, there may be times where your significant others parents absolutely love you, while your parents don't approve of the relationship. Take the time to know your partners parents, they like you and you don't want to make them your enemy. If you are invited to family functions try to attend as many as you can. Befriend his/her family because they are great people for supporting your relationship.
4. Be patient, but be careful . If you are truly invested in each other and know that you are going to love each other for the long haul, be patient. See if your partner makes an effort to, do what ever is best for the relationship, if he or she does not then it is up to you whether or not your relationship is worth it.
5. Try not to bring up past memories that did not go so well. This is something that most couples shouldn't do regardless of whether or not they are an interracial relationship. Plans may fail and you may not like it, but for heavens sake don't bring up what happened at that time, weeks or months down the road. We know we made a mistake, but its when we repeat that mistake consistently when it becomes a problem.
6. Trust each other. Trust is the glue that sticks together all relationships. Imagine having a relationship worrying whether or not your significant other is cheating on you or doing things behind your back. If you love each other you trust each other, simple as that.
7. Always be ready to make sacrifices. Because both of you are a different kind, there can be many differences in culture or norms between the both of you. There may be things you don't like but, you need to sacrifice in order to keep the relationship going on a steady pace. Love, is not a perfect straight path, sometimes you need to take a road that you don't want to take, sometimes you hit bumps in the road, it is up to you to be ready for them.

Final Thoughts

Think of this quote taken straight from the bible:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." [1 Corinthians 13:4]
This verse taken straight from the Bible is self explanatory. Wrap your relationship around this quote and there will be nothing but good blessings for your relationship. Like I said before, I am in interracial relationship, and my girlfriend and I have molded our relationship around this quote and we are happily in love with each other.I will never be afraid to express how much I love her. I know that you too can reach success, all you need to do is put your mind, heart and soul to it. It takes true courage to stand up against obstacles.
Hope this article helped, If you have any questions or need advice feel free to leave a comment below and I will get to it as soon as I can. Thanks.
