Are you a non-Armenian dating someone who is Armenian or are you Armenian currently dating someone outside of your culture? How have the families responded??

I'm Mexican, currently dating an Armenian guy. We both really like each other but he's very worried about his family (especially his mom) not accepting the fact that he's dating someone who's not Armenian. He's mentioned he's brought hispanic gfs home before and his parents were never bothered, but it was probably because he was never serious with any of them. He says he's scared now to confront his parents about getting serious with a Mexican girl because the think they will disown him. His mom already knows he's dating me but I don't think she's aware that he wants to get serious with me. And when he tried to talk to her, she started lecturing him on the importance of dating an Armenian but told him to do whatever the hell he wanted. This has been getting me really worried that it will break us apart. Any advice?
